The UK’s most travelled party band in April, Souled Out arrive at Aberdeen airport to discover that, in time honoured fashion, their cases had gone elsewhere. After several minutes uncontrolled panic, the client dispatched the band to a local tailor, who fitted them out in nice new suits, while the girls scoured the local department stores and boutiques for new dresses.

There was the inevitable delay while the girls finished their shopping trip, so the guys nipped in to a local hostelry to whet their whistles - purely in the interests of keeping their throats lubricated, you understand? In all innocence, as it was such a nice day, they all decided to stand outside on the verranda while the band’s only smoker had a quick intake of nicotine, whereupon the local constabulary arrived in Sweeny-like mode, to inform them that drinking on the street is illegal north of the border! They pleaded their case and were allowed to go free, with nothing more than a stern ticking off from Mrs Plod,  who John, the band leader, described as the only woman he’s ever met who frightened him more than his wife!! 

Needless to say, when Souled Out returned to the hotel, BA had managed to locate their bags and they arrived in the nick of time - another sensational show ensued and the band lived to tell the tale. They followed that with another performance on Saturday night at The Exhibition Centre and returned to Stansted, complete with their bags and their liberty.

In fact, coupled with a series of events which Souled Out performed in March for Total Fina Elf, it seems that the band is now the preferred choice for all the World’s major Oil Companies! Yes Brazil performed their sensational, sensuous, samba show, which left the audience breathless, while Star had the dancefloor packed until the wee small hours. The end result was superb evening of entertainment and another hugely successful event, with which The CBS Group was proud to be associated.

First up was the Independent Financial Review Awards at Grosvenor House on 14 January, where they worked alongside The Jools Holland Orchestra. HRH The Princess Royal was guest of honour while Graham Norton hosted the awards presentation ceremony. Souled Out’s massive 15 piece party show band performed a fantatsic set and is truly one of the few bands in the UK who can follow the mighty Jools Holland Orchestra.

On 22 January, Souled Out moved on to The Park Lane Hilton hotel and stayed there for The PFI Awards on 23 January where Hugh Dennis was the host and 24 Jan for the ISR Awards, hosted by Michael McIntyre. Then back they came again on 30 January for the European Venture Capital Awards, hosted by William Hague.

This was a great run of events for this superb party band and each night Souled Out wowed the audience with their riotous stage show and magnificent musicianship. Souled Out had the pleasure of working alongside Reality, who produced each event and this was the fourth year running that Souled Out have provided the entertainment for these events.

Working with Sue Hardwick of Hardwick Press & PR, we arranged the launch ceremony, which included a full reveal with a lightshow and brought in Suzi Perry, the renowned motorcycling journalist, who officially launched the Sealine 35 Sport.

Providing the music for the event were Steve Vintner and Ben Mitchell, whose percussion and disco ensemble performed a selection of Ibiza Chill music including some Cafe Del Mar tracks which were mixed by Ben, especially for the renowned Ibiza venue.
